The gospel is not information to be stored. It is a message to be delivered.
Romans 10:14 asks a question that strips away every excuse for keeping it to yourself: how will they believe in him if they have never heard? And how will they hear without someone telling them?
The logic is inescapable. People cannot respond to a message they have not received. And they cannot receive a message no one has brought.
The church in Acts understood this with an urgency that most modern believers have lost.
They spread the gospel while being arrested for it. They preached in synagogues and got thrown out. They traveled to cities that did not want them and stayed until the message had been delivered or they were physically removed.
Paul planted churches across Asia Minor and Europe while being beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, and left for dead outside Lystra.
He did not stop. He considered stopping a worse outcome than anything the opposition could do to him.
First Corinthians 9:16 captures the internal pressure he felt: Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel.
The assignment has not changed. The people who carry it have.

The Gospel Does Not Need a Perfect Messenger. It Needs a Willing One.
Andrew’s entire evangelistic presentation to Peter was one sentence: we have found the Messiah. Come and see.
The woman at the well went back to the city and said come see a man who told me everything I ever did. She had no training, no theological vocabulary, and a personal history she would not have chosen to lead with.
The people came because she had clearly encountered someone, and the encounter was visible on her.
Philip ran to a moving chariot because the Spirit said go. He asked one question and let the conversation develop from there. He started where the Ethiopian was, not where Philip would have preferred to begin.
Paul wrote from prison that his chains had actually advanced the gospel, because the guards chained to him were hearing it whether they chose to or not. The circumstances that looked like an obstacle were functioning as a platform.
None of these people waited until they felt qualified. They had a message, and they delivered it, imperfectly, in difficult settings, to people who had not requested it. Romans 10:15 calls their feet beautiful.
The gospel asks for availability, not eloquence.
What People Want to Know About Spreading the Gospel
What does the Bible say about spreading the gospel?
Matthew 28:19 gives the command to make disciples of all nations. Mark 16:15 says to proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Acts 1:8 promises the Spirit’s power specifically for witness. Romans 10:14 makes the logical case that people cannot believe what they have not heard. The command is consistent, clear, and directed at every believer rather than a specialized ministry class.
Is every Christian called to spread the gospel?
Yes. Acts 1:8 was spoken to all present, not only apostles. First Peter 3:15 says every believer should be prepared to explain their hope. Matthew 5:13–16 calls all followers salt and light. The method varies by person and context, but the responsibility to be a witness belongs to every Christian regardless of role, gifting, or comfort level.
How do I share the gospel if I am not good at speaking?
Andrew said one sentence and brought Peter to Jesus. The woman at the well told her story. Matthew 10:20 says the Spirit speaks through the willing person. Colossians 4:6 calls for gracious speech, not polished speech. First Peter 3:15 says do it with gentleness and respect. The Bible never requires eloquence. It requires willingness and authenticity.

God of the Harvest, Make Me One of the Laborers You Send
Father, I want to bring before you the silence I have kept about the gospel in situations where speaking would have cost me something I was not willing to pay, and ask you to replace that reluctance with the compulsion Paul described in 1 Corinthians 9:16.
Let Acts 1:8 be the actual source of my courage rather than my own confidence, because the power for witness was never supposed to come from me.
Open a door this week, a conversation, a moment, a question from someone I did not expect, and give me the willingness to walk through it with whatever words you provide.
