The God of Scripture does not have a category for impossible.
He does not look at a situation and calculate the probability of a favorable outcome.
He does not weigh your resources against the size of the problem.
He is not impressed by the scale of what opposes you, because the scale of what opposes you does not change the scale of who he is.
The direct statement is made twice in the Bible almost word for word: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
God asked it rhetorically to Abraham when Sarah laughed at the promise of a son in her old age.
Jeremiah repeated it back to God in prayer while the city was under siege.
Neither asked it as a genuine question. Both declared it as an affirmation: nothing is too hard for the Lord.
The evidence in Scripture is not theoretical. It is documented and specific.
A sea separated for an entire nation to cross on dry ground. The sun stood still over Gibeon for a full day. Dead men raised, water turned to wine, five loaves feeding thousands with surplus remaining. The tomb sealed with a Roman guard that could not contain what was inside.
Every miracle in Scripture is a data point that accumulates into a single conclusion: there is no upper limit to what God can do when he decides to act.
Whatever situation you are holding right now as you read this, it qualifies as nothing too hard for him.
The Direct Declaration
1. Is Anything Too Hard for the Lord?
“Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.” — ESV, Genesis 18:14
God asked the question and then immediately answered it with a promise.
Sarah’s laughter at the impossible was met with a timeline.
2. Nothing Is Too Hard for You
“Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.” — ESV, Jeremiah 32:17
Jeremiah declared this while Jerusalem was being besieged.
The circumstances made it costly to say. He said it anyway.

Creation began with nothing.
Everything that exists came from the one who requires no raw material to work with.

The God who spoke the universe into existence does not strain to accomplish what he intends.

The heavens are what God uses to make a tent.
The person who lives in that tent is the one you are asking to intervene in your situation.
Miracles That Proved Nothing Is Too Hard
8. The Red Sea Parted for an Entire Nation
“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the LORD drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.” — ESV, Exodus 14:21
A sea that stood between Israel and freedom became a road.
The impossible did not take God longer. It took one night.
9. The Sun Stood Still Over Gibeon
“And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day.” — ESV, Joshua 10:13
The laws of the solar system were suspended for a military campaign.
God paused the orbit of a planet for the sake of a battle.

A river stopped flowing and held its position until the people were through.
The water waited because God told it to.

A furnace heated seven times hotter than normal produced no burn, no singe, no smell.
The fire had no power over them.

The door God opens is a door that no human authority can close.
The reverse is also true: what he shuts no one opens.

The scope of what God can do exceeds the scope of human imagination.

The category of what is possible expands completely when God is the one acting.
Human impossibility is not divine impossibility.

But because you are the God who parted the sea, stopped the sun, shut the mouths of lions, and walked out of a sealed tomb.
And my impossible situation is smaller than any of those.
